Michael Vick Sentenced To 23 Months In Prison (VIDEO)

Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 Months in a Federal Penitentiary for his role in a dogfighting crime ring Monday in a Richmond, Virginia courtroom. U.S. District Court Judge Henry Hudson could have showed him leniency, however Vick lied about his role in the execution of the dogs, failed a lie-detector test, failed a drug test, and lied about drug use. Vick could be released in May of 2009 (for all you fantasy football players) with good behavior and as long as he can serve any state sentences while serving his federal sentence. Vick appeared in court with his black and white prison jumper and heard as Judge Hudson admonished him and his counsel for not being truthful with FBI Agents and prosecutors. Besides the 23 months in a minimum security federal penitentiary, Vick was sentenced to serve 3 years of "closely supervised probation." Though Vick hasn't been truthful and has lied about drug use, he has attended sensitivity classes provided by P.E.T.A. and there has been increased public service announcements in regards to dog fighting. Let's hope Vick can turn his life around and hopefully make his way back to the NFL.
