Greg Schiano Says No To Michigan, Ga. Tech. Hires Paul Johnson

Rutgers Head Football Coach Greg Schiano told Michigan he isn't interested in heading up their program. Schiano has turned down Miami and Michigan in consecutive years to stay at Rutgers and continue to lead their program to the upper tier of the College Football landscape. Would you have ever thought that a Rutgers coach would turn down to programs like that to stay at Rutgers? Schiano is proving that there are still coaches that are winners and still have a sense of loyalty. This also proves that there is a changing landscape in College Football where any team can come out of nowhere and be a national power. The key is to make them a traditional power that can compete on a yearly basis. Then again, maybe Schiano may be waiting for the Syracuse job to open up. Ok, back to reality. In other head coaching news, Navy Paul Johnson has been hired to become the Head Coach at Georgia Tech. He takes over for Chan Gailey, who was fired November 26. Navy AD Chet Gladchuk confirmed the hiring Friday morning. "Paul is fixated on what Paul wants to do and that's the next step and new challenges at Georgia Tech," Gladchuck said. "We appreciate what Paul has done and we'll always remember him as one of the great coaches in Navy history. But we're very respectful of his wishes for new challenges at Georgia Tech."
