Former Yankee Jim Leyritz Charged With DUI

Former Major League Baseball player Jim Leyritz was arrested and charged with DUI Manslaughter and DUI Property Damages in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. on Friday after his SUV collided with another car and the driver of the second vehicle was ejected and from her Mitsubishi and died. Leyritz turned 44 on Thursday and apparently had partied a little too much before getting behind the wheel. Leyritz is best known for his home run in Game 4 of the 1996 World Series that tied the Atlanta Braves at 6and the Yankees went on to win that game and the World Series in 6 games, their first title in 18 Years. Who can forget Leyritz with the big pad on his left arm as he was up to bat and his intensity on seemingly every play. Now, as is the case with more and more athletes, he will go down in our memories as someone who was great on the field, but screwed up bad in society. Jim, we hope you get thru this and get the help you need, while realizing you have a debt to pay now. Good luck and our prayers are with you and the victims families.
