SYRACUSE KEEPS FOOTBALL COACH GREG ROBINSON

In a move that upset many and surprised few, Syracuse University Athletic Director announced they will retain Head Football Coach Greg Robinson. This is tough, one part of me likes Greg Robinson as a recruiter, as a game planner, and he is quite positive...Ok...sorry...he sucks as a game planner and positive? my college coach told a player that he didn't care if the player hit another in the back and pissed blood for a week, at least he would learn! No positive talk there! My PROBLEMS with Greg Robinson are these:
First, not a motivator. In the end of the Pitt game, Syracuse had a chance to come back and he was jumping around and cheering and NOBODY was jumping around near him. The players weren't motivated by his excitement and were almost embarrassed by his display. 'Cuse went on to lose.
Secondly, inconsistent. His game plan for the Louisville game was brilliant. They hit slant patterns, long passes down the sideline, were aggressive on defense. Didn't see that at all in any other game.
Finally, not a natural winner. Some coaches can win in big games because they are natural winners. G-Rob can't win the small games, with the exception of Buffalo. Syracuse went on the road and lost at Miami...of OHIO! Pitiful.
I understand a 4th year, but I fully support a mid-season fire next year if it starts off bad against Northwestern and Akron. Syracuse also has Penn State and Notre Dame next season, on top of their Big East Schedule. What is interesting is both Greg Robinson and Charlie Weiss could be coaching for their jobs when they play on November 22, 2008.
